About International Business Days
|
International Business Days (IBD) is a simple Java utility application for working with business day calendars. These calendars are used in treasury and derivatives trading to determine the dates of future cashflows. IBD has the following features:
- non-business days specified using rules (including an Easter rule);
- able to read and write data in ASCII format;
- copy and paste holiday data to other applications (such as Microsoft Excel);
- based on the Java 2 platform (SDK 1.2 or later);
- full source code included, subject to the GNU General Public Licence;
To see how the application looks to an end user, view the screen images of the user interface for IBD.

Sample Data File
|
IBD ships with a sample data file that contains holiday definitions for:
- Helsinki, Finland (thanks to Veli-Pekka Mattila);
- London, United Kingdom;
- Wellington, New Zealand.
I would like to extend this data file to include holidays for other cities around the world, and you can help. Once you have installed IBD on your system, try defining the holiday rules for the city that you live in - then e-mail the data to me, and I'll post it on this site. Contributors will be credited on this site and in the data file (or you can remain anonymous if you prefer).
